The Truck Buddy System
how we work and what you can expect
Thanks for looking into a move with MyTruckBuddy.com! Around here we prize service and simplicity, which means that in order to serve you in the best possible way, we keep it simple. Also, I fear and loathe complexity.
Key to that simplicity is this: We are a "You pack, we move" company. That means that as of right now, we don't offer packing services. We help keep your costs low by transporting items you pack.
Short version of how it works:- Read over the website to see if we're the people for you. In particular, check out the FAQ and Policy pages for basic questions. In particular, check out the rates and estimate information below.
Better yet, download our free moving guide! Like everything else on this website, it's a work in progress, but it should give you a lot of useful information geared toward helping you prepare for a cheap, fast move.
Moving Guide v. 1.2 (1343 KB) - Give us a call to inquire about availability. We can give you a quick answer to whether we have room on the calendar, and a rough idea of the time and cost.
- Fill out a Request/Estimate Form. If you're ready to get a quote from us, visit our services page and fill out one of the request/estimate forms. We'll get back to you ASAP with how long and how much we think your job will cost.
- Confirm. Let us know you want to go with us if you like the estimate! We'll be sure to reserve your spot on the calendar.
Check out the information below to get an idea of the time and costs involved. If you're satisfied that we're going to stay within your budget -- and we do 90 percent of the time, or well BELOW it -- click the image below to book a move.

Thanks!

How long typical jobs take:
Some constants:- No minimums on moves -- we only charge for the time you need. (Deliveries are the only thing we for which we charge a one-hour minimum.
- NO hidden or surprise fees--GUARANTEED. We only charge an hourly rate and truck fee. If a job merits a travel fee, you'll know about it from the start.
- We start the clock when we arrive and stop the clock when the last item is in the place where you want it.
- We pro-rate hours -- we don't charge for time we don't work. E.g. if we finish a job in three hours and twenty minutes, we round up to three and a half hours, or 3.5 hours. If a job takes two hours and forty-five minutes, we call it 2.75 hours.
Typical job lengths
The following is how long jobs usually take. Certain factors like multiple flights of stairs, long walks, or tiny little elevators can have a significant impact on the time. If we see anything potentially dangerous in your form, we'll let you know -- our job is to make you happy, not to create an adversarial relationship with our customers.huge, important note:
The absolute best way to ensure a quick, inexpensive move is proper preparation. We'll be creating a parallel website to flesh out our Moving Tips page a little more, but we can't stress this enough -- lack of preparation is the most common reason for jobs taking longer. - We completed jobs under the LOW end of the estimate 21 percent of the time
- More than 67 percent of jobs completed in the above date range were completed within the estimated range
