MTB Ikea Runs

My Truck Buddy occasionally does an "Ikea run." We know how popular Ikea furniture is (EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD goes there, apparently), but we also know what a pain it can be to make the trek to it in the DC area. So, we had an idea: how about if we take one of our big trucks, load up everybody's stuff, and deliver it? (It's one of those "duh" ideas we occasionally have...)

If 10 or fewer people participate, the delivery is $95 flat.

If 11-15 people participate, the delivery is $85 flat.

If 16-20 people participate, the delivery is $75 flat.

If 20 or more people participate, the delivery is $65 flat.

The delivery range is restricted to within or just outside of the Beltway. More distant deliveries are possible, but we'll have to work on a different rate scale. (Nothing insane, but we're cutting the margins pretty thin as it is...)

Our next Ikea run is scheduled for "TBD," but soon. Here's how it works:

1. Notify us. Let us know you're interested in participating, and how many people you can get on board.

2.Go shopping! You can create a shopping list on Ikea.com and send it to us. Download the Ikea shopping instructions here:

3. Submit payment at least one week before the scheduled delivery date. You can mail a check to the address below, or use Paypal. (If you use Paypal, please submit a little earlier so we have time to transfer funds). This payment should be the full amount for the cost of the items in your shopping list. Payment for delivery is due at the time of delivery.

 

The key to making this successful (and worth it for everyone -- us included!) is to get at least 15-20 people on board. This keeps costs low and still allows us to pay for gas.
